About Me
Software Dude / Homelabber
Who I Am
I'm Hafeez (or my online name Sora), a Computer Science student at UTP (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS). I'm passionate about tinkering with homelab technology, self-repair, and self-hosting.
What I Do
I love building and experimenting with my homelab setup. From setting up self-hosted services to exploring new technologies, I'm always learning and improving my infrastructure. Self-repair and understanding how things work from the ground up is what drives me.
My Interests
I like treating my homelab like a real environment: careful planning, backups, and clean cable runs.
- Virtualization stacks for learning and testing.
- Storage layout planning, backups, and restore drills.
- Monitoring, logging, and power-safe shutdown flows.
Self-hosting lets me control my data, performance, and reliability. It is hands-on and practical.
- Running containers and services with clear separation.
- Reverse proxy, TLS, and access control tuning.
- Automations that keep things running smoothly.
I enjoy taking things apart, understanding the failure point, and rebuilding them better.
- Hardware repairs and maintenance.
- Lab upgrades, airflow, and thermal tuning.
- Documenting fixes so they are repeatable.
New tools excite me, but I only keep the ones that solve real problems.
- Trying new platforms, languages, and frameworks.
- Comparing trade-offs before adopting.
- Staying curious without chasing hype.
